I switched from Yasmin back to Zovia recently, because I was getting massive cysts on Yasmin and my face is 95% clear right now. I think that I had a bad reaction to the Spironolactone in Yasmin. Anyway, most pills, no matter which you choose will come with an initial breakout, so your best bet is to stick with the Zovia right now and then talk with your doctor about switching after giving this one 4-6 months to make a huge difference. I bet you will see a change after 4 months or so. I copied the following info from a web site that had lots of good info on the pill and acne and that helped me make the best choice for me.
The pills that are likely to cause worse acne and hair growth side effects are those pills high in androgenicity and low in estrogen content. Such pills might include:
Loestrin® 1.5/30
Loestrin® 1/20 Fe
Estrostep® Fe
Levlen®
Alesse®
Ovral®
Norlestrin® 1/50
These pills tend to help clear acne because of their estrogen dominance:
Yasmin®, Demulen® 1/50, Othro-Tri Cyclen®, Ortho-Cyclen®, Yasmin®, Brevicon®, Modicon®, Necon®, Ortho Evra®, Mircette®
Zovia, of course, is the generic for Demulen.
