[QUOTE=HubbleRules;2296442]mmvic,
I've read on the internet about a lot of problems with contamination and adulteration of many Asian or Chinese supplements. Many contain unlisted prescription drugs, steroids - other 'bad' stuff.
I don't know what kind of 'government standards' you are referring to, but I would caution people about use of RRY 0 especially from China.

Yesterday I bought a bottle of Rexall Red Yeast Rice at Sams Club, after asking my MD about it, and doing a quick job of web research.
My MD told me he had read that RYR could be effective, since it contains a naturally occurring product similar to the statin in Mevacor.
The web sources informed me there are a variety of sources and types of Red Yeast Rice.
Today I called Rexall [[COLOR="Red"]removed], and asked them to tell me the dosage of lovastatin, the active ingredient in RYR. The answer I got was discouraging.
Since Rexall Red Yeast Rice is NOT STANDARDIZED, they cannot tell me the level of lovastatin in any batch - since that level varies with each batch. So anecdotal results, such as those on this thread are misleading since levels of the active ingredient are variable.
